Lucky Spur Ranch & Retreat is a wonderful, hidden gem in Justin, Texas. This beautiful, rustic wedding venue was previously a working horse ranch and has all the southern charm you could hope for! In my opinion, one of the coolest features of Lucky Spur is that they have on-site lodging available for up to 25 people (not to mention if you brought air mattresses!). The idea is that you, your bridal party, and even your out-of-town guests might be able to enjoy the ranch for an entire weekend (and be able to party responsibly!).
There were more aspects to the ranch than I'll be able to cover in this blog post, and my photos are admittedly sub-par. I apologize! Just take this as a reason to go tour the place for yourself :)
Lucky Spur Ranch offers two distinct outdoor ceremony locations: one fully outdoors & one covered pavilion. You won't have to worry about weather here! I'll be working as the day-of coordinator for a wedding out here later in 2017 (pictures to come!) and that bride will be using the pavilion for a pre-ceremony cocktail space to allow guests time to arrive. I love that idea!
The big barn is an amazing space for an indoor ceremony or for your reception. Lucky Spur Ranch & Retreat offers an on-site caterer that is a steal of a deal and includes food, servers, linens, and cleanup. You're also welcome to bring your own caterer for a fee, but the in-house food is great! The caterers have 2 restaurants in Justin, TX, so you can go taste the food & be confident in your choice.
As I was taking my tour with Sharie, I kept asking in my head "There's MORE?!" You absolutely have to get out to Lucky Spur and see the grounds for yourself. I hardly posted shots of the overnight accommodations, but there are plenty to keep the party going all weekend long if you'd like! There are two honeymoon suites on-site, both with incredible bathrooms and roomy tubs. The bridal suite & groom's suite are full bedrooms with plenty of space to spread out and relax. The Saloon is a great spot for a cocktail hour or bridal party staging place for your day-of lunch or an after-party (kick your guests out and keep partying all night long!). And yes, one of the overnight cabins comes with a hot tub! (There is also at least one separate full kitchen on-site [and I think there are 2!] if you decided to cook your own food for the wedding or a rehearsal dinner!).
Lucky Spur also has a stocked, catch & release pond for the groomsmen to fish in, as well as skeet shooting. There is plenty of space out on the ranch for your guests, family, and friends to spread out and "vedge out." Not only is the ranch great for weddings (did I mention you get the venue for 12-hours and they only hold one event per day?), but it's great for family reunions or corporate retreats! And let me tell you, Sharie was such a gem showing me the place! Schedule a tour today: it just might feel like home.
So what are you waiting for? Go schedule a tour of Lucky Spur (and stop at Lonesome Spur or the Mule Barn in Justin to try the caterer's food!).
Lucky Spur is definitely a rustic, "down-home" country feel full of southern hospitality and charm. What kind of style is your wedding? Would it be adaptable to a rustic venue? Let me know in the comments!
